Michelle Obama Wows In A Sexy Dress And More Wins On This Week's Best-Dressed List

Michelle Obama knows how to strike the perfect balance between sophisticated and sexy. The first lady did just that this week in a white, shoulder-baring Zac Posen dress at BET's "Black Girls Rock" awards show.
Actress Helen Mirren followed the fist lady's sultry lead and donned a sheer and crystal encrusted dress while hitting the town. Add that to the handful of other looks that caught our eye over the past few days and you've got yourself a squad of very stylish stars.

I Put Kelp On My Face, Here's What Happened

I love sheet facial masks so much so that I'll try any one that doesn't look like it will burn my face off.
Sheet facial masks are treatments that come on a piece of cloth or paper. They are individually packaged (compared to other masks that are jarred or in tubes), and they usually target a specific problem such as dryness, oily skin or irritation.
Few things feel better than laying on my bed with a sheet mask stuck to my skin, a cool glass of water in one hand and my phone in the other. I always feel good about using the treatment every once in a while, because it's like giving my skin the relaxing vacation it deserves.
So when the team over at Glow Recipe handed me a sea kelp sheet mask, I immediately thought, "I have to try this."
What Is It?
Whamisa Organic Sea Kelp Facial Sheet Mask ($14, GlowRecipe.com) is pretty much what it sounds like: a mask made from 100 percent sea kelp. Unlike other skincare treatments, this product is free of parabens, silicones and synthetic fragrances. Its ultimate goal is to make faces glow.
The layers of kelp are submerged in a gel-like formula that includes niacinamide, a chemical that is made up of vitamin B3. Niacinamide can treat skin conditions such as bullous pemhigode, which causes severe blistering, and granuloma annulare, a ring-shaped cluster of small bumps. The chemical can also possibly treat acne.
While the Whamisa mask markets itself for all skin types, it's best for skin that needs hydration and a short-term appearance boost for 72 hours. If you have allergies, be sure to consult a physician before use, as niacinamide contains histamine, which could worsen your seasonal symptoms.
How I Used It
I decided to try this out on a Monday night after my skin looked dull from a long day and a hard Zumba class. I expected the mask to smell odd, but it smelled nicely of tea. I was careful in removing the mask, since the sheet is very delicate and it's split up into two halves. As the directions instructed, I applied the bottom half first, followed by the top.
Although the gel formula is slimy and slippery, I was surprised to find that the mask stuck to my face so I could relax. I peeled the mask off 20 minutes later.

I indeed, #wokeuplikethis. Rating: 4 out of 5. People complimented my skin and I loved the experience of having kelp on my face. Though my face wasn't particularly hydrated for three days straight, my skin held on to a nice brightness throughout.

12-Year-Old March Madness Winner Donates Xbox Prize To Make-A-Wish

Twelve-year-old March Madness bracket champion Sam Holtz has a philanthropic streak to match his preternatural basketball smarts.
Although a technicality prevented Sam from collecting ESPN's $20,000 grand prize, he used his consolation winnings to donate an Xbox to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Sam tied for first place in ESPN's official March Madness Tournament Challenge, besting some 11.5 million other entrants. His victory would have qualified him for entry into ESPN's Grand Prize lottery for a trip to the 2015 Maui Invitational, along with a $20,000 Best Buy gift card.
But the sixth-grader from Lake Zurich, Illinois entered the competition with his father's email address, a violation of ESPN's rule that entrants must be 18 years of age.
Sam had told Chicago's WGNTV he hoped to buy an Xbox One if he won, and Best Buy awarded him a $1,000 gift card as a consolation prize. He used the card to purchase one Xbox One for himself, and another to donate to Make-A-Wish.
"I decided to donate one of the XBox One systems to Make-A-Wish because of my cousin Alec," Sam told the Chicago Tribune. "When he was real little, he was in Make-A-Wish, and [23 years ago], people granted his wish of going to Disney World."
According to the Tribune, Alec survived his illness.
“I think that Sam’s a pretty admirable little kid,” Josh deBerge, senior manager of national communications and public relations at Make-A-Wish, told The Huffington Post. He predicts they'll quickly find a home for the Xbox because gaming systems are popular wishes among sick children.
Make-A-Wish chapters around the country granted 259 wishes for electronics in 2014, he said, mostly for gaming systems and computers.
"What a wish is in general is a chance for a child to imagine something that takes them away from their illness," he explained. "And I think gaming systems and the games that kids are playing help do that. The great thing about a gaming system is that they can get immersed in their games anytime."
“All of us should be like Sam, and be thinking about how we can do something good for others today,” he added.
